I have submitted my resignation to the 4-H office. The Corvallis Sharpshooters is now defunct and gone. The OSU Target Range has been repurposed by OSU and is no longer functioning as a target range; 100 years of OSU tradition is over.
It was a good run while it lasted. I was with the club for about 40 years, ever since I was a parent of a high-school freshman who joined and I stuck around to help. Hundreds of youth participated, had fun, enjoyed the 4-H spirit, learned comradeship and leadership, learned safe gun handling and expert marksmanship. It will be missed.
Thanks to all the club members and parents, volunteers, Extension staff and friends who made the Sharpshooters a success.
Carry on and best wishes to all.

June 28, 2021 Still closed down.

Despite Benton County moving from Extreme Risk to High, the County 4-H office is still prohibiting any face to face in person 4-H activities.
We are not yet approved for in-person activities due to COVID-19 safety concerns. And it looks like we have lost our target range as well. We need a place to shoot if we are to continue. Suggestions? Someone got big bucks to build us a modern range? 02/02/2021
September 12, 2020. Still closed to all in-person activities.
August 17, 2020 The 4-H office says all in-person 4-H activities are cancelled until further notice.
No news from the Extension Office, we know we are cancelled until September. We don't know know when we will reopen, if ever. If they close the OSU Target Range as they seem to want to do. Another location would have to be found.
